Toreros Unable to Tame LMU Lions Losing 140-122

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego swam head-to-head with the LMU Lions on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles and were unable to pull out the victory with a 122-140 loss.

Sophomore Kristen Yoon competed well against the Lions. She finished with a first place time of 59.85 in the 100 yard backstroke. She then finished first in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.52. And finished with the first place time in the 200 yard individual medley in a time of 2:13.12.

Senior Joy Miller had a good day as she finished first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:08.71) and second place in the 100 yard butterfly (58.46). Teammate Sarah Gleason finished the 1000 yard freestyle in first place with a time of 10:41.42 followed by a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:14.66.

Freshman Haley Pittman had a solid day as well with a first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:27.28 and a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke 1:10.04. Erin Voyles rounded out the top finishes with a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.54.

San Diego returns to the pool when they take on crosstown rival San Diego State at SDSU on Saturday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. at the Aztec Aquaplex.
