Regular season ends with loss to SDSU

University of San Diego's swim team ended their season with a loss to cross-town rival San Diego State Saturday afternoon 187-101.

Torero senior Ashley Swart and junior Meghan Peter swam stellar performances with 1st and 2nd place finishes. Freshman Erin Voyles captured a 2nd place finish. Both relay teams also took 1st and 2nd place in separate events.

Peter took 1st place in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:07.42 and 2nd in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.24 while Swart captured 1st in 200 backstroke with a time of 2:26.78 and 1st in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:26.37.

Freshman newcomer Erin Voyles took 2nd place with a time of 1:56.78 in her 200 freestyle event. Joy Miller also took 2nd place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.74.

San Diego's 200 medley relay team took 2nd place with a 1:53.19 (Cramer, Peter, Miller, Swart), while the 400 freestyle relay took first place with a time of 3:40.98 (Peter, Altenau, Voyles, Miller).

The Toreros will prepare for the Western Athletic Conference meet scheduled for February 22-25 in San Antonio, Texas.
