San Diego Tallies 52 Points On Day One of WAC Championship

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of San Diego women's swimming and diving team currently is in seventh place with 52 points after day one of the Western Athletic Conference Championship swim meet. Hawai'i is in first place with 74 points.

The Toreros finished the first two events of the four day meet including the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the Toreros "A" squad (Kristen Yoon, Meghan Peter, Joy Miller, and Tina Levesque) swam in the finals with a time of 1:48.26 earning 24 points and seventh place.

In the 800-yard freestyle relay, San Diego's "A" squad (Erin Voyles, Joy Miller, Sara Gleason, and Kristen Yoon) swam in the finals with a time of 7:43.11 earning fifth place and 28 points.

Action continues Thursday at Palo Alto College Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas with the 500-yard freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 1-meter diving and the 200 freestyle relay. Prelims begin at 11:00 a.m. and the finals start at 6:30 p.m.
