Fairbanks, Alaska - Loyola Marymount swimming completed its second dual meet of the young 2005-06 season Saturday, once again defeating the University of Alaska Fairbanks 117-74. The Lions did not enter each of the dual's 13 events, but they took first place in every event they entered at Hamme Pool.
Newcomer Julia Hall won the 1650 yard freestyle, out-swimming UAF's top finisher by almost a minute and a half.
Returners Maggie Brophy (200 free), Liz Magura (50 free), Katie Hicks (200 IM), Alicia Royal (200 fly), Lauren Mathewson (100 free), Kim McKay (200 back, 400 medley relay), Alyssa Geraghty (400 medley relay), Sarah Hamilton (400 medley relay), and Christine Gore (400 medley relay) each won titles for the Lions.
After more than tripling the Nanooks' score in Friday's duals, the Lions were able to experiment with their entries in Saturday's competition.
The Lions' road swing over the LMU mid-semester break weekend continues, as LMU will swim at Seattle University on Monday.
