Pepperdine Swimming Concludes Action at UC Irvine Invitational

Malibu, Calif. - The Pepperdine swimming and diving team concluded competition at the UC Irvine Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Anteaters Aquatics Complex. The Waves placed in the top ten of every relay invitational event they participated in, while the diving team also had strong performances on the boards.

The 200 medley relay team of Ketrina Lemmen, Sarah Kallman, Alison McLeod and Heather Brehmer placed third with a time of 1:51.79. The 3 x 100 breast relay team of Haley Wilson, Lauren Velarde and Kallman placed fourth with a time of 3:34.93, while the 3 x 100 back relay team of Lemmen, Wilson and McLeod also placed third in a time of 3:02.56.

In the 3 x 100 fly, Nicole Okuna, Wilson and Brehmer placed fourth (3:05.45). The 4 x 200 free saw Wilson, Lemmen, Kady Skora and McLeod place sixth with a time of 8:14.82. The 4 x 50 free relay team of Wilson, McLeod, Brehmer and Lemmen captured third place with a time of 1:39.95.

In the diving invitational on Saturday, Lindsay Adarme placed third, Gina Warren captured sixth place and Shannon Pirozzi took tenth place. Sunday proved to be just as successful, as Adarme captured fifth place, Pirozzi took eighth place and Amanda Pond rounded out the top ten with a tenth place finish.

The Waves are next in action on Saturday, January 14 when they open dual meet action against Cal State Northridge in Northridge, California beginning at noon.
