Malibu, Calif. - After placing fourth in the sprints at the UC Irvine Invitational on Saturday, the Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team rounded out the meet on Sunday by taking another fourth-place finish; this time in the relays accumulating 215 points, which included a first place finish in the 400 IM.
Wyoming won the relays with 340 points, while San Diego State (266 points) and San Diego (217 points) rounded out the top three.
Alison McLeod, Danielle Kimmel, Amy Nightingale and Haley Wilson led the Waves with a first-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 3:58.92 and also placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.66.
McLeod and Nightingale, along with Lauren Meagher, placed third in the 3 x 100 back with a time of 3:02.20, while Kimmel, Wilson and Sara Kallman placed fourth in the 3 x 100 breast with a time of 3:31.11.
Also having Top 5 finishes were McLeod, Nightingale and Loriann Mark who placed fifth in the 3 x 100 fly swimming a time of 3:03.14 and McLeod, Kimmel, Nightingale and Wilson, who swam to a fourth place finish in the 4 x 50 free in a time of 1:41.18.
In diving, senior Lindsay Adarme once again led the Waves as she placed third in the one-meter dive with 224.55 points. On Saturday, Adarme placed second in the three-meter dive. With 197.70 points, sophomore Michelle Wargo placed ninth, while Devyn Schumacher and Sarah Towers placed 11th and 12th, respectively.
The Waves will open dual meet competition at home on Sat. January 13 when they face Cal State Northridge at noon.
