Malibu, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team will open dual meet action on Saturday, January 14 against Cal State Northridge in Northridge, California. The meet kicks off at noon. It is the first of four dual meets, with the Waves competing against LMU at home on January 19 followed by Cal Poly and San Diego State on January 27.
The Waves are coming off of a successful weekend at the UC Irvine Invitational, where they placed fourth in the sprint invitational and placed in the top ten of every relay invitational event they participated in. The diving team also had strong performances on the boards.
Last season, Ketrina Lemmen and Chelsea Zink finished first and second in the 100 backstroke, but it was not enough to overtake Cal State Northridge as the Matadors edged Pepperdine 158-136 Friday. 15 Waves registered season bests with Zink, Loriann Mark and Lauren Velarde each tallied two season bests in the meet at Raliegh Runnels Memorial Pool. Pepperdine diving also swept their events capped by Lindsay Stephens, who earned first place in both the one-meter and three-meter dives.
