Pepperdine Swimming and Diving Wins Three Dual Meets at Big West Shootout

Malibu, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's swimming and diving concluded competition at the Big West Shootout in Irvine, Calif. The Waves won three of their four dual meets in Saturday's events and posted top-three performances in almost every event.

Kady Skora led the way in distance as she placed second in the 500 free with a time of 5:17.48 and third in the 1000 free with a time of 10:56.22. Freshman Haley Wilson proved her skills in the pool as she clinched three top-three finishes. Wilson placed first in the 200 IM (2:11.63) and second in the 100 free (53.78) and the 200 free (1:57.25). Heather Brehmer and Lauren Velarde each captured a third-place finish in the 50 free (25.09) and the 200 breast (2:25.85), respectively.

Lindsay Stephens swept the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, placing first in both events.

The Waves are next in action at the Loyola Marymount Pentathlon in Los Angeles, Calif. on November 12 beginning at 1 p.m.
