Four Waves Go Top Three at Big West Shootout

Nov. 8, 2004

Irvine, Calif. - Four Waves earned ten top-five finishes at this weekend's Big West Shootout, hosted by UC Irvine. Emily Andrews, Ketrina Lemmen, Katharine Skora and Lindsay Stephens combined for the top spots in sprint, distance and diving events.

Pepperdine's first place finish came thanks to the diving efforts of Stephens, who took the top score in Saturday's 1 Meter Diving with a 228.55 mark. Behind her in the event was Andrews, claiming second place to outdo the third place she earned on Friday in the same event. Stephens took second in the event the day before and also took third in the 3 Meter competition Friday.

Lemmen bested Friday's fourth place finish in the 100 Backstoke (59.51) by notching a second and third on Saturday. The junior finshed second in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 53.89 and captured third place in the 50 Freestyle race with a 24.98 time.

Freshman Kady Skora shined in the distance races taking third in the 500 Freestyle (5:13.76) and fifth in the 1000 Freestyle (10:51.89).
