The Lions won dual meets against USD and CSUN at the Big West Shootout two weekends ago on the strength of their relays, winning both the opening 400 Medley Relay in 4:05.59 and the 400 Freestyle Relay at the end in 3:41.54. LMU continued its dominance in the sprint Freestyle events, with senior Alex Wike capturing both the 50 and 100 yard races with Aja Kusao and Carolyn Pasque making it an LMU sweep in the 50, and Pasque also capturing third in the 100 for a 1-3 finish.

In the longer Freestyle events, Witter and Rebecca Plume battled to a second and third place finish in the 200 Freestyle while sophomore Trinity O'Neill placed third in the 1,000 Freestyle. O'Neill later returned to capture another third place finish in the 200 Butterfly. Other Lions scoring points in the duals were senior Angela Samuels, who placed second in the 200 Individual Medley, and Melanie Tansuwan, who placed third in the 200 Breaststroke.

Taking a break from action, LMU will return to the water on January 5 when it hosts UC San Diego in a 12 p.m. meet.
