Cold Weather Can't Stop Hot Gaels

Moraga, CA - It was a cold and windy day with threats of rain when the Gaels took the court against the UC Davis Aggies. The Gaels were not affected by the weather as the won today's match 6-0. The Gaels improve their overall record to 6-0.

Today's doubles matches were not played due to fear of rain so the match went straight into singles. Marah Calvo sped through her match, winning 6-1, 6-0. Calvo remains undefeated as a Gael improving to 6-0 in singles this year. Calvo's streak is quite impressive, in fact on the season she has won 12 of 13 sets while winning 70 games and dropping only 13.

Jessica Hoath, Erin Young and Stef Ordoveza each won their match in two sets. Hoath won her macth 6-1, 6-2. Young won her match 6-4, 6-2. Ordoveza grabbed her match 6-3, 6-0.

Aude Lambert won her match today in a three set tie breaker. She won the match 7-5, 4-6, 1-0. Lambert has won her last seven singles matches. No. 94 Femke Strijbis won her first match since earning a national ranking earlier this week. She won her match 4-6, 6-2, 1-0. Femke has won her last four singles matches.

The Gaels have swept their singles matches in their last three competitions.

The Gaels return to action tomorrow morning when they face off against Hawaii. The match is slated to begin at 11:00 am at the Korth Tennis Complex.
