San Diego, CA - The No. 56 ranked Saint Mary's women's tennis team suffered a tough 4-1 loss to No. 61 South Florida on Friday morning at the University of San Diego Invitational in San Diego, CA.
The Gaels didn't play doubles and went straight to singles play due to wet court conditions, with the Gaels falling to the South Florida. With the loss Saint Mary's falls to 5-4 overall and snaps its four-match winning streak.
Saint Mary's will face SMU on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in the second day of the invitational.
The Gaels were led by Aude Lambert on Friday, who pulled out a 7-6, 7-6 victory over Neyssa Etienne, who is ranked No. 37 in the nation.
