No. 17 Pepperdine Crushes No. 63 Penn, 5-1 on Friday

Malibu, Calif. - The No. 17 Pepperdine women's tennis team easily defeated No. 63 Penn, 5-1, on Friday afternoon at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif. With the win, the Waves improved to 10-2 on the season, while the Quakers fell to 5-4.

Singles were played first due to rain showers with the Waves taking five of the six matches against the Quakers. No. 34 Bianca Dulgheru defeated Yulia Rivelis 6-1, 6-2 at court one, while No. 93 Sylvia Kosakowski handed Alexis Plukas a 6-3, 6-1 defeat. No. 125 Natalie Braverman put away Caroline Stanislawski 6-3, 6-3. Eva Dickes had no trouble at No. 5 as she defeated Sara Schiffman 6-1, 6-1, picking up her tenth win of the season. Merve Asimgil beat Ashley Lostritto 6-1, 6-1 at court six.

Penn's only point came at No. 3 where Raluca Ciochina defeated Caroline Raba 6-3, 6-1.

Pepperdine is next in action on Tuesday, March 14 when it faces No. 11 Baylor in a 1:30 p.m. match. at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, Calif.
