Toreros Fall To #60 Princeton, 6-1

(San Diego, CA) - Two doubles matches and two singles matches were extended to tie-breaker scenarios, but the visiting Princeton Tigers came out on top in three of the four matches to hand San Diego a 6-1 defeat today at the USD West Tennis Courts. USD's doubles team of Helene Lindstrand and Zoe Taylor won at No. 1 doubles with a 9-8 win over the Tiger duo of Sarah Huah and Ivana King. USD lost at No. 2 doubles (8-2), and lost 9-8 at No. 3 as Justine Perl and Alex Demidova fell to Princeton's Kristen Scott and Laura Trimble. The Tigers won five of six singles matches with USD's lone point coming at No. 5 singles where Alex Demidova won 6-1, 6-3 over Blakely Ashley. USD lost two close tie-breakers in singles. Justine Perl dropped a 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) decision to Joanna Roth at No. 6 singles, and Samantha Mouly fell to Ivana King at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-5). USD will host Marshall next Friday, March 23rd, at 10:00 am.
