Toreros Deal Washington Huskies 5-2 Loss

(San Diego, CA) - The host USD Toreros won their second match in their last three outings with today's 5-2 victory over the visiting Washington Huskies of the Pac-10. USD earned the all-important doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, then went on to win four of six singles matches. The Toreros won singles matches three thru six with Helene Lindstrand winning at No. 3, Alex Demidova at No. 4, Zoe Taylor at No. 5 and Justine Perl at No. 6. At No. 1 doubles, Alex Demidova and Sophia Vogt edged Mathilde Cor and Joyce Ardies, 9-8, in the pivotal match for the team point. Demidova and Zoe Taylor also earned straight set victories in singles play.
