Women's Tennis Blanks Third Straight Opponent

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team played in their third straight home game this Sunday. Just as the Gaels have done in the past two games, they swept the competition. The Gaels defeated rival Santa Clara by a score of 7-0. This marks the second time this season that the Gaels have recorded three straight sweeps.

The match got under way with doubles. Aude Lambert and Jessica Hoath won their match 8-2. The pair has won four straight doubles matches. Femke Strijbis and Stef Ordoveza also won their match by a score of 8-2. Marah Clavo and Erin Young won their match 8-3. The pair improved to 7-1 in doubles on the season.

In singles, Calvo continued her habits of finishing first for the Gaels. She rolled through her opponents by a score of 6-1, 6-0. She improved to 14-0 on the season. Hoath followed suit with her speedy match. She won her second straight match by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Ordoveza won her match 6-2, 6-0.

Femke Strijbis won her match 6-1, 6-1. She has won six of her last seven singles matches. Young won her match by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Reigning WCC Player of the Month Aude Lambert completed the Gaels sweep today as she won her match 6-4, 6-2.

The Gaels improved to 13-1 on the season. They won their seventh straight match against conference opponents and their second 7-0 sweep over Santa Clara.
