Zags Finish Season With 4-2 Loss To Portland

MALIBU, Calif. - - Emily Anderson of the Gonzaga University women's tennis team posted a win at No. 1 singles in her final match as a Bulldog Sunday, as the Zags fell to sixth-seeded University of Portland 4-2 on the final day of the West Coast Conference Championship held in Malibu, Calif.

With the loss, the eighth-seeded Zags finished the tournament in eighth place and round out the season with a 4-18 record. The Pilots, who finished seventh, improved to 11-12 for the year.

Anderson and Aglaya Kokurina were the lone Bulldogs to post earn points for the afternoon. Anderson posted a straight -set victory over Christina Feyen (7-6, 6-3) at No. 1, while Kokurina posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Megan Sporndli at No. 2.

Kendall Bates, Sydney Lederhouse, Courtney Lau and Carrie Schofield all fell in their respective matches.

Doubles matches were not played due to rain.
