Mouly & Wiesener Compete at ITA All-American

(Los Angeles, CA) - The USD women's tennis team has two players competing at the 2007 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships presented by Fila. Both Samantha Mouly and Monica Wiesener were invited to play in the Pre-Qualifying event this weekend. Mouly won her first two rounds and will face Liz Ferris, the No. 4 seed from Utah, in a Sunday afternoon match. Mouly beat Amanda Granson of Duke in the first round (6-4, 6-2) and came back to best Jacqueline Lee of Iowa, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1. Monica Wiesener, seeded 9-16, won her opening match over Cal Poly's Whitney Peterson (0-6, 6-4, 7-5), but dropped her second round match to Delia Damaschin of Arkansas (3-6, 6-2, 7-5). The duo dropped their opening doubles match 8-2 to the Texas tandem of Stephanie Davison and Caroline Larsson.
