Berkeley, Calif. - Emily Anderson of the Gonzaga University women's tennis team earned a consolation round victory Saturday in the second day of the ITA Regionals hosted by University of California in Berkeley, Calif.
In the third round of consolation play, Anderson came back from one set down to defeat the University of Washington's Victoria Brymer (3-6, 7-6(4), 10-3).
Also playing in the singles draw was Gonzaga's Erin Humphrey and Kendall Bates. Humphrey fell in straight sets to Saint Mary's College Emily Young (6-0, 6-1), while Bates fell to Carmen Seremeta of the University of Oregon (6-0, 6-3).
In doubles play, the GU duo of Anderson and Bates fell to California's Bojana Bobusic and Claire Ilcinkas in the third round of consolation play (8-3).
The Zags' Anderson will continue consolation play Sunday morning during Gonzaga's final day of play for the fall season.
