SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Pepperdine University women's tennis team has been selected to win the West Coast Conference crown for the upcoming 2015 season, the league office announced Thursday.

The annual preseason poll was voted on by the league coaches and ranks the ten-team field and top six players to start the campaign.

Pepperdine ranked No. 30 in the recent ITA rankings, is the unanimous selection to win, garnering seven first place votes as conference policy prohibits coaches from casting a vote for their own team. Saint Mary's was just edged out by Pepperdine for the top spot in the preseason survey as the Gaels were awarded 73 points and one first place nod in the voting. Saint Mary's enter the season ranked No. 42 in the current ITA team poll and are headlined by All-Team honoree and nationally ranked No. 48 Danielle Flores.

Brigham Young University tallied 66 points to rank third, and received two first place votes. The Cougars sophomore Mayci Jones acquired All-WCC honors after a successful freshman season where she earned All-WCC Second Team in singles accolade.

San Francisco garnered 53 points four forth place ahead of University of San Diego in fifth with 45 points to round out the top five. The Dons junior Andrea Ka owns the No. 51 position in the ITA women's singles, claimed a spot on the All-WCC team.
