WCC Women's Tennis Announces Weekly Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference announces its women's tennis weekly honors for singles and doubles competition for March 4, 2014.


WOMEN'S TENNIS SINGLES PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LORRAINE GUILLERMO, JR., PEPPERDINE
Junior Lorraine Guillermo posted a 6-3, 7-5 victory vs. #99-ranked Stefanie Mikesz of Memphis last week Tuesday. Although the Tigers won the dual - their 36 th consecutive win at home - Guillermo posted her team-best eighth win of the season over a ranked opponents. Guillermo was up 3-0 in the first set on Hawaii's Cindy Nguyen on Saturday when rain forced the dual to be called.

WOMEN'S TENNIS DOUBLES TEAM OF THE WEEK
MATEA CUTURA, SO./ ALE GRANILLO, SR. - PEPPERDINE
Sophomore-senior doubles pair and two-time reigning WCC Doubles Team of the Week Matea Cutura and Ale Granillo continued their winning ways this week in their only match last week. The duo extended their streak to six wins in a row after defeating Marta Morga and Liza Tymchenko of Memphis by an 8-5 tally. It was the Tiger pairs' first loss in dual play in 2014. Granillo and Cutura are a team-best 6-1 in dual action this season, and 8-2 overall.
