Dons Top Toreros For First Time Ever

March 19, 2007

Maybe it was the picnic lunch at the beach. Or the relaxation of the waves crashing up on the shore, or playing under some nice sunshine. Whatever it was, we had a successful spring break trip down in San Diego as we beat the Toreros for the first time ever with a convincing score of 6-1. We came out strong taking the doubles point and then Taylor, Pamart, Martin, Macedo, and Hickey gave us singles wins for the successful day. My hat goes off to Emma Taylor who stepped up at #1 singles on the day to come back from a 6-7, 4-5 down and come back and win the second set and the third. It was a well fought match. Mylene Martin won in usual fashion, crushing balls inside the baseline, winning 6-1,6-2.

We are on a two match winning streak now as we just beat the University of Montana yesterday with a score of 6-1.

We are looking forward to continuing the streak this week as we have a slew of matches this week and next at Golden Gate Park.

Come on out for some tennis and the local drummers in the park!! Bring your bag lunch and have a blast.
