SAN BRUNO, Calif.-University of Portland sophomore Lucia Butkovska has been named the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week, while doubles teammates Lorraine Guillermo and Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai earn the doubles weekly honor in the sport of women's tennis, the league announced Wednesday.

Butkovska guided Portland to a 3-0 record last week after the Pilots entered the ITA rankings for the first time in program history. The Bratislava, Slovakia native went 3-0 in singles play at the No. 1 position, including a come-from-behind win against No. 97-ranked Danielle Flores of Saint Mary's on Friday. After dropping the first set by a 6-3 margin, Butkovska responded with a 6-2 win in the second and 6-1 victory in the third set. That helped lead Portland to a 4-3 win over the No. 33-ranked Gaels, the highest ranked victory in school history. She also posted straight set wins over Cal Poly's Louise Oxnevad (6-4, 6-1) and Pacific's Iveta Masarova (6-2, 6-4) to run her dual singles record to 12-1 this spring. The Pilots, ranked No. 67 in last week's ITA poll, have now won five straight matches and are 10-4 overall and 2-1 in WCC play. Butkovska collects here first career honor, and the first for a Pilot player this season.

No. 27 Pepperdine's doubles pair of Guillermo and Runglerdkriangkrai earned two road wins in doubles this week over San Diego and No. 54 BYU. They earned a 6-1 win against the Toreros' Drew Spinosa and Dana Oppinger , and a 6-4 triumph over the Cougars' Toby Miclat and Birttanie Eraso that clinched the doubles point for the Waves. This season, the duo is enjoying a three match win streak, are 4-6 in their last 10 matches, and currently sport a 5-7 ledger in dual play this season.
