USD Women's Tennis Alums Representing Tennis Ireland

The International phase of the season for Irish tennis begins in April with the women's team due to compete in Fed Cup in Mauritius beginning the week of April 23rd. Two of the five players competing this weekend for the four spots on Tennis Ireland played on the USD women's tennis team - Emma Murphy (Cork, Ireland) and Yvonne Doyle (Dublin, Ireland). Murphy, who played from 2003-2006, was a two-time WCC Player of the Year and reached the NCAA Tournament her final three seasons. She has been assisting USD head women's coach Sherri Stephens this season.

Doyle, who played for the Toreros from 1994-97, reached the NCAA's twice in doubles (1995 & 1996) with partner Kristine Smith, and once in singles during her 1997 senior campaign. In Fed Cup, Ireland, Latvia, Egypt and Turkey are expected to be the seeded teams competing for promotion.
