SAN BRUNO, Calif. --

The 2013 WCC regular season concluded today with a three-way tie atop the standings between Saint Mary's, Santa Clara and Pepperdine. This year marks the second year of a round-robin format in which a regular season Conference champion is named. The Gaels, Broncos and Waves each finished Conference play with a 7-1 record and are thus co-Champions.

The Pepperdine women's tennis team concluded its regular-season yesterday with a convincing 4-1 win over BYU. Pepperdine has two WCC regular-season championships to its name after winning the title outright during its inaugural run in 2012.

Saint Mary's finished the regular season last weekend by defeating Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount in its final two matches to clinch a share of the title. It is the second WCC title in the last four seasons for the Gaels, who won the WCC Championship in 2010.

Santa Clara completed WCC play this afternoon with a gritty 4-3 win at Portland. The Broncos defeated Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash. yesterday, and will play their final regular season match tomorrow when they visit Oregon. The 2013 regular season WCC title is a first for the program.

The WCC Championship begins on Wednesday, April 24 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. The No.1 and No. 2 seeds will earn a double bye into the semifinal round on Friday, April 26, while the No. 3 seed will earn a bye into the quarterfinal round on Thursday, April 25.
