Pepperdine Regains WCC Women's Tennis Championship Title

April 23, 2011

SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- The Pepperdine women's tennis team avenged its loss in last year's West Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship, presented by the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education with a 4-2 win over No. 1 seed San Diego at the Barnes Tennis Center on Saturday, April 22. This is Pepperdine's 22nd conference title in program history.

After dropping the No. 1 doubles match, the Waves came back in No. 2 and 3 doubles in close 8-5 and 8-6 victories, respectively, to take the 1-0 lead. The close competition and tenacious rallying continued down the singles lineup. With two singles wins apiece, it was redshirt junior Khunpak Issara that claimed the final point for the Waves on court four with a 7-5, 6-3 win over San Diego junior Juliette Coupez.
