San Bruno, Calif. - Loyola Marymount's Pavla Mesterova was named WCC Player of the Year after helping the Lions tie for third place at the WCC Women's Tennis Championship last week. The junior is the first netter in LMU program history to receive the WCC's top honor for women's tennis, while Saint Mary's Lisa Alipaz was tabbed for WCC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Gaels to a program-best second place finish at the WCC Championship. Samantha Mouly became the first San Diego player to take home WCC Freshman of the Year honors, and four Pepperdine netters were named to the All-WCC first and second teams after the Waves captured their 19th league crown.

Joining Mesterova and Mouly on the All-WCC first team is Pepperdine's Sylvia Kosakowski, the top ranked WCC singles competitor at No. 53 in the ITA listing, and fellow Wave Bianca Dulgheru, who was named WCC Player of the Year last season and was tabbed for first team honors for the third straight year. Joining her teammates on the All-WCC first team is Pepperdine freshman Katia Sabate, and Saint Mary's senior Aude Lambert, who also earned her third straight All-WCC first team honor.

Saint Mary's placed three players on the All-WCC second team on the heels of the program's best-ever finish at the WCC Championship, with Marah Calvo joining Jessica Hoath and Femke Strijbis among the second team honorees. Loyola Marymount's Robyn Baker earned second team recognition for the second straight season, while Pepperdine's Caroline Raba and Santa Clara's Casey Knutson round out the second team All-WCC selections.

Three different programs were represented on the first team All-WCC doubles squad, with Pepperdine's No. 32 ranked duo of Dulgheru and Kosakowski joining Loyola Marymount's pairing of Baker and Mesterova on the team. Saint Mary's tandem of Hoath and Lambert received All-WCC honors for the third straight season after being tabbed for second team recognition last year.

Pepperdine's duo of Anete Bandere and Eva Dickes were named to the second team, and was joined on the squad by Saint Mary's freshmen Femke Srijbis and Nienke Strijbis. Santa Clara's tandem of Erika Barnes and Knutson was also named to the second team, marking the first time since 2003 that a Bronco duo has received All-WCC honors.
