Bianca Dulgheru Falls in First Round of NCAA Singles Championships

Malibu, Calif. - Playing in her second straight NCAA Singles Championships, Pepperdine women's tennis player Bianca Dulgheru fell in the first round to second-seed Kristi Miller of Georgia Tech. After falling 6-2 in the first set, Dulgheru won the second set 6-3, but was ultimately defeated 6-3 in the third set.

The sophomore will team up with junior Eva Dickes and will face Miller and Lindsay Shosho of Georgia Tech in the NCAA Doubles Championships, while senior Merve Asimgil and junior Sylvia Kosakowski face Neyssa Etienne and Gabriela Duch of South Florida. The Wave duo upset then-No. 12 Etienne and Duch, 9-7, earlier in the season.

Times for Thursday's doubles matches will be set at the conclusion of this tonight's first round singles action.
