USF Women's Tennis Travels across the Bay to Compete at the St. Mary's Invitational

(San Francisco, CA) - USF women's tennis will compete at the St. Mary's Invitational in Moraga, CA Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15. The Don's second event of the fall season will take place at the Korth Tennis Complex located on the St. Mary's campus.

Ten players from USF will join players from Cal, Fresno State, Nevada, Pacific, San Jose State, Stanford and UC Davis, as well as West Coast Conference competitors Portland, St. Mary's, Loyola Marymount, and Santa Clara in the three day competition.

Junior Jenny Sperry enjoyed a strong start to the fall season at the Cal Nike Invitational. In the Blue ranks, Sperry defeated two players to advance to the quarterfinals were she fell to Cal's Clair Ilcinkas. Sperry will look to improve when she competes this weekend.

DIRECTIONS: To get to Saint Mary's from San Francisco, cross the Bay Bridge (Highway 80) and take Highway 580 to Highway 24 towards Walnut Creek/Concord. Once through the Caldecott Tunnel, use the Orinda/Moraga exit. From the exit, turn right onto Moraga Way and stay on that for five miles into the town of Moraga. Turn left at Moraga Road and proceed to the next light, which is Saint Mary's Road, and take a right. The campus is one mile on the right-hand side. The Timothy Korth Tennis Complex is located at the front of the campus, adjacent to Louis Guisto Field and Cottrell Field. Once turning onto the campus, the Tennis Complex is visible on the immediate right-hand side of the road.
