Women's Tennis Beats UCSB, Falls to Cal Poly

San Luis Obispo, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team beat UC Santa Barbara 5-4 and fell to Cal Poly 7-2 during the Cal Poly Invitational over the weekend in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Saint Mary's sophomore Aude Lambert beat Cal Poly's Chelsy Thompson 6-2, 6-2 in No. 1 singles action and beat Muriel Gruenig 6-0, 7-6 in her second match of the weekend.

In other singles action against the Gauchos, SMC's Kate Harden beat UCSB's Chelsea Glynn 6-3, 6-4. In doubles action, the Gaels swept the Gauchos, with the team of Lambert and Harden beating Glynn and Fukushima 8-4, Megan Schulman and Kristen Kummer beat Leslie Damion and Muriel Gruenig 8-6, and Dunya Stankovic and Seph Ordoveza beat Kristen Wilson and Brittany Knuson 8-3.

Against Cal Poly, the Gaels' Seph Ordoveza beat Cal Poly's Falon Lopez 6-3, 6-4 in No. 6 singles action.

In other Cal Poly action, Kate Harden dropped her match 7-5, 6-1, Kristen Kummer dropped her match 7-5, 6-1, Megan Schulman lost 6-3, 6-0, and Dunya Stankovic lost her match 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles action, the team of Lambert and Harden lost 8-4 to Waller and Shabaz, Schulman and Kummer lost 8-3 and Stankovic and Ordoveza lost 8-3.
