WCC announces All-Academic Team

The West Coast Conference announced its Fall All Academic as means of honoring the conferences best examples of a complete student-athlete. These student athletes have excelled both on the court and in the class room. WCC Commissioner Michael Gilleran said "I offer my congratulations to all of the student-athletes honored and nominated for exemplifying the WCC's commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics."

Four Gaels were named to the All-Academic squad: Seniors Mandy Bible, Christina Kirk, Alex Christlieb and junior Karrie Hagedorn.

Senior setter Mandy Bible was one of two Gael volleyball players to be honored by the conference. Bible has maintained a 3.22 GPA as a Sports Medicine major. This past season she maintained a high GPA all while becoming the schools all-time assist leader with 5362.

Senior Christina Kirk

Senior outside hitter Christina Kirk was the second volleyball player to be named to the All-Academic team. Kirk has maintained a 3.42 GPA as a Psychology major. While succeeding in the classroom, the senior also was among the conference leaders in hitting percentage, kills and blocks.

Senior Alex Christlieb

Senior defender Alex Christlieb was named to the Gael's soccer representative on the All-Academic list. Christlieb has maintained a 3.57 GPA while majoring in Business Administration. While excelling in his studies, Christlieb also was named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Team, WCC Player of the Week and College Soccer News Team of the Week.

Junior Karrie Hagedorn

Junior harrier Karrie Hagedorn was the Gael's cross country representative to receive All-Academic honors. Hagedorn has maintained a 3.49 GPA as a Liberal Arts major. Not only has Hagedorn been successful in the classroom, but she also became the second fastest runner in the programs history this season. At the San Francisco State Invitational Hagedorn medaled on the strengths her fourth place finish.
