March 9, 2006

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Former University of San Diego women's volleyball standout Devon Forster (2001-04) has traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo. to begin training with the US National Team.

Forster is currently the only player in the history of the program to earn four first-team All-West Coast Conference selections. During her four year career in a Torero uniform she has etched her name into the all-time and single-season record books. She is currently the all-time leader in career attack attempts with 4,603, and is second all-time in service aces with 148, second in kills with 1,886 and fourth all-time in gigs with 1,189. In the single-season record books she ranked second in kills with 549 and second in attack attempts with 1,350. She also ranks fourth in service aces with 44.

In 2004, she was tabbed as the WCC Player of the Year and was named an AVCA All-American after helping lead the Toreros to the 2004 WCC championship in which USD posted a 14-0 conference record. The Toreros kept that momentum going into the postseason carrying them into the sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.
