Two USD Volleyball Players Named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab-50 List

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Two University of San Diego women's volleyball team recruits for the 2007 season have been named to Volleyball Magazine's 2007 Volleyball Girls Fab 50 Recruits List. The two future USD players are Ali Troost and Ashton Basch, who will begin classes at USD in the fall of 2007.

"We are very excited that both Ashton Basch and Ali Troost have beenrecognized by the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 recruits," said head coach Jennifer Petrie. "Our 2007 class of athletes is incredibly talented and we are looking forward to adding them to our program this fall as we strive to defend our West Coast Conference Championship title."

Troost , a senior at Hemet High School, will join the Toreros after being selected as the Sunkist League's Most Valuable Player. She was a first-team All-CIF selection and was a first-team CIF All-Academic team member as a junior. She was also named All-Riverside County as a sophomore and junior.

Basch joins the Toreros Volleyball team after having a standout career at El Toro High School. While at El Toro, she helped the Chargers win the Orange County Championship, a CIF-SS final appearance and go to the CIF State tournament. As a junior she was selected first-team All-Orange County and first-team All-South Coast League.
