Kristin Hasselberg and Linzy Kearney Competing In Argentinian Summer Tour

May 29, 2007

Two USF volleyball seniors are competing on the USA BringIt Promotions (BIP) Developmental Team in Argentina this summer. Senior outside hitter Kritsin Hasselberg and senior opposite hitter Linzy Kearney represent the Dons on a team with a strong West Coast flavor.

This is the second straight season Hasselberg and Kearney have competed on a foreign tour. The team arrived in Argentina May 21 and will return June 1 after a series of matches throughout the country.

A 2006 All-West Coast Conference First Team selection, Hasselberg completed her standout junior campaign ranked fourth in career kills at USF with 1,219 (4.04) and needs 300 for sole possession of first place on the all-time list. USF Legend of the Hilltop Brittanie Budinger (2000-03) currently owns the top spot with 1,518.

A team captain in 2006, Kearney helped the Dons turn in the top blocking performance in team history for the second straight season as a junior. Kearney enters her final season in the Green and Gold ranked ninth in total blocks with 234.
