Volleyball Promotes Assistant Coach

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's volleyball program has announced that Assistant Coach Sydney Chute has been hired as a full-time coach. Chute will continue to work with Gael setters as well as be a main staple of the Gael coaching staff.

Chute began her collegiate coaching career last year as a part time assistant with the Gaels. She was the second hire by the, then, new coach Rob Browning. Browning liked what he saw in Chute as she helped lead the team to its third straight NCAA appearance.After only one year Chute was promoted to a full time assistant coach.

Browning added "We're glad that we could get Sydney into a full time position. She is important to the success of our setters as well as our team as a whole."

Chute looks forward to her newfound coaching responsibilities as the season approaches. Chute and the Gaels are looking to make it to their fourth straight NCAA Tournament.
