San Diego's Katie Hoekman Named WCC Volleyball Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for September 3, 2013.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: KATIE HOEKMAN, SAN DIEGO, SENIOR, MIDDLE HITTER
Senior middle hitter Katie Hoekman is the WCC Player of the Week for September 3. Hoekman played a huge part in the Toreros posting a 2-1 record to open up the season, including a huge upset over No. 11 Hawaii in Hawaii. Hoekman was named to the All-Tournament team. For the week, she recorded 45 kills, while hitting for a .470 clip.

Hoekman began the week with 18 kills on 26 swings, while only committing one attack error to hit for a .708 clip against UTEP. She then followed that up with a 14-kill performance against No. 1 Texas, before closing the week with a 13 kill performance against No. 11 Hawaii.
