BYU's Jennifer Hamson Earns Second Conference Honor This Season

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for September 3, 2012.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JENNIFER HAMSON, BYU, JUNIOR, OH
Jennifer Hamson once again led her team to three-straight sweeps over the weekend with 40 kills and her second season double-double (15 kills and 11 digs vs. Portland State). Against No. 21 BYU's in-state rival Utah, Hamson recorded 16 kills on .625 hitting. She also recorded 11 blocks over the weekend, tallying six block assists vs. Bowling Green to tie her season high. Hamson was named MVP of the BYU Nike Invitational, her third MVP honor in as many weeks. Hamson leads the team with 138 kills on the season at 4.45 kills per set.

Hamson helped her team to its third tournament title this season, pushing the Cougars to a 9-0 season record for their best start since 2005. With each of the weekend's three matches won in three sets, the Cougars now have had six sweeps this season.
