BYU's Jennifer Hamson Named WCC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has announced its women's volleyball Player of the Week award-winner for September 12, 2011.

Sophomore opposite hitter Jennifer Hamson led BYU to the Utah Invitational title and a win against rival Utah in the Deseret First Duel. Totaling 51 kills and 42 digs last week, Hamson recorded two double-doubles against BYU-Hawaii (15 kills, 10 digs) and Utah (15 kills, 11 digs) and broke a career record for service aces in a match with five against BYU-H. Hamson also had a season-high hitting percentage with .591 against Utah. She was named to the all-Utah Invitational team after being awarded the Deseret First Duel trophy with her team.
