Two WCC Volleyball Teams Ranked in Nation's Top 25

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- West Coast Conference women's volleyball will wrap up non-conference play this week as conference season starts on Thursday, September 22. Two games are scheduled for this evening with BYU traveling to Utah State at 6:00 PM and Portland hosting Idaho at 7:00 PM.


  • Two teams are now ranked in the AVCA poll with San Diegomoving up two spots to No. 17 and Pepperdine making its wayinto the rankings at No. 21. San Diego is still undefeated at 10-0, the best start in program history. Pepperdine is currently 6-3after putting together wins over No. 8 UCLA, No. 23 Dayton andNo. 24 Florida State.

  • Pepperdine senior Stevi Robinson became the school's all-timeleader in digs with her first dig of the day against Michigan. Thedefensive specialist tallied eight more that match and six againstFlorida State to bring her career total to 1,419, surpassing theprevious record of 1,404 held by Christina Hinds (2002-04).

  • BYU is currently riding an eight-match win streak and capturedits second tournament title of the season at the Utah Invitational.

  • This week will be the last week of non-conference action beforeconference play begins on Thursday, September 22. Gonzaga andBYU will be the first to host with matches set for 6:00 PM PT. UPand USF will then host Pepperdine and USD at 7:00 PM PT.
