  • Three WCC volleyball teams are currently ranked in the AVCA Coaches Top 20 in No. 14 Pepperdine, No. 16 BYU, and No. 18 San Diego.

  • No. 14 Pepperdine currently rides a three-match win streak after sweeping its last three opponents on the road. The Waves defeated then-No. 11 Florida State, then-No. 21 Ohio State and Houston.

  • After registering double-doubles in all three of Pepperdine's victories, junior Jazmine Orozco was named the WCC Player of the Week. She was also named the Flo Hyman Classic Most Valuable Player, making it the third time she has been singled out during a tournament this season.

  • BYU is still undefeated after blanking three more opponents -- New Hampshire, Princeton and George Washington -- to capture the George Washington Invitational title. Freshman Alexa Gray won her first tournament MVP award, with juniors Jennifer Hamson and Kathryn LeCheminant also earning all-tournament honors.

  • San Francisco defeated Cal for the second straight time this season with a sweep over the Golden Bears at home. Senior Jocelyn Levig tallied 20 kills on the night, making it her third match with 20 or more kills this year.

  • San Diego picked up a pair of sweeps over Fresno State and Yale before taking down UC Santa Barbara, 3-1, this past week. In Friday's 3-0 win over Fresno State, junior Chloe Ferrari recorded 12 kills on 15 swings, while committing no errors, to hit for a .800 clip, which ties her for third at USD in single-match hitting percentage.

  • Winning its fifth five-set match in seven tries this season, Santa Clara came back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Cal State Fullerton in its final match of the Fullerton Classic last weekend. With the win, the Broncos are now 10-4 on the season, good for fourth place in the WCC entering conference play.
