San Diego's Katie Hoekman Named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for September 24, 2012.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: KATIE HOEKMAN, SAN DIEGO, JUNIOR, MIDDLE HITTER
Junior middle hitter Katie Hoekman played a major role in the Toreros opening WCC play with a 2-0 record, picking up 3-1 wins over both San Francisco and Santa Clara. Hoekman recorded 26 kills, while hitting for a .438 clip this past week. Hoekman also led the team in blocks with nine. She began the week with a 14-kill and four block performance against USF for a .423 clip. She then followed that up with a 12-kill and five block performance in the win over SCU while hitting a .455 clip in the match.
