SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The 2012 West Coast Conference conference schedule is in full swing, entering the second week of WCC action. Undefeated BYU will be making an appearance in the Bay Area, taking on San Francisco and Saint Mary's this week.   • BYU (14-0, 2-0 WCC) women's volleyball rose in theAVCA Coaches Poll to No. 11 after defeating then-No. 14Pepperdine, 3-0. The ranking is the Cougars' highest sinceSept. 3, 2007, when BYU was ranked No. 9.

  • San Diego (10-2, 2-0 WCC) moved up two spots to No. 16after opening conference play with a pair of 3-1 wins overSan Francisco (10-5, 1-1 WCC) and Santa Clara (11-5, 1-1WCC). The Toreros were led by junior middle hitter KatieHoekman, who recorded 26 kills, while hitting for a .438 clip,and adding a team-best nine blocks.

  • After dropping a tough 3-0 match to undefeated BYU,Pepperdine (10-4, 1-1 WCC) came back to defeat Portland(6-10, 0-2 WCC) by a score of 3-1 at home. Junior WaveJazmine Orozco (last week's National Player of the Week)tallied her fifth consecutive double-double in the matchagainst the Pilots with 14 kills and 14 digs.

  • San Francisco picked up its first WCC victory by outlastingLoyola Marymount in five sets (21-25, 25-19, 25-19,12-25, 15-12) at LMU's Gersten Pavilion. With the victory,the Dons improve to .500 in WCC play and have now wonsix of their last eight matches.

  • Despite the loss to San Francisco, LMU sophomore LitaraKeil notched a career-best 24 kills and hit for a .500 clip overthe course of the five sets.

  • Opening the WCC season at home last week, Santa Claradefeated Gonzaga, 3-1, on Thursday. The Broncos were ledby sophomore Taylor Milton, who collected 15 kills.

  • Loyola Marymount sophomore Litara Keil leads the WCCin kills with 36 kills over eight sets of conference play for anaverage of 4.50 per set.

  • In conference matches, BYU leads the WCC in hitting percentagewith a .382 clip and blocks at 3.33 per set. JuniorKathryn LeCheminant leads the conference in blocks with10 total for an average of 1.67 per set.
