SMC Volleyball Team to 'Dig for the Cure'

Moraga, Calif. - This fall, Saint Mary's College women's volleyball teams won't will be helping in the fight against breast cancer. The team, headed by coach Rob Browning, will be participating in the "Dig for the Cure" program to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Gaels have selected their home conference match on Thursday, October 18 vs Loyola Marymount for their "Dig for the Cure" match. Gael fans can sponsor the SMC volleyball team by pledging money per dig or by making a flat donation. The money raised goes directly to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Dig for the Cure campaign was originally started in 2003 by Charlotte Head Coach Lisa Marston, and has spread to numerous other volleyball programs across the country since.
