Saint Mary's Jordan Shaw Named WCC Volleyball Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for October 1, 2012.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JORDAN SHAW, SAINT MARY'S, JUNIOR, OUTSIDE HITTER
Saint Mary's junior Jordan Shaw helped lead the Gaels to a 3-0 week with West Coast Conference wins over Portland, No. 18 Pepperdine and No. 11 Brigham Young. For the week, Shaw averaged 3.92 kills per set, 3.83 digs per set, 0.50 aces per set and 0.42 blocks per set. Her cumulative numbers included 47 kills, a .327 attack percentage, six aces, 46 digs and five blocks. She had double-doubles in each match.

Against Portland, Shaw had 12 kills in the sweep as she hit at a .478 clip. She added 10 digs in the win. Against No. 18 Pepperdine, Shaw had 22 kills on .291 hitting while adding 17 digs and four blocks. In the win over previously unbeaten No. 11 BYU, Shaw had 13 kills with 19 digs on .281 hitting.
