Pepperdine Tops Leaderboard After Five Match Win Streak

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- West Coast Conference women's volleyball will continue conference play this week on Thursday, October 13.


  • No. 19-ranked Pepperdine picked up a win at LMU anda win at home against BYU to remain undefeated in WCCmatches. The win over LMU, part of the Wells Fargo PCHCup Series, was a three-setter while the win over BYU wasa close four-setter.

  • San Diego held steady at No. 17 in the latest AVCA top-25 poll after posting another perfect week at 2-0 withwins over Portland and Gonzaga. The Toreros are now ona five-match win streak.

  • After having its five-match win streak broken by Portlandthe previous week, San Francisco came back in its lonematch to defeat Bay Area rival Santa Clara in four sets. This isthe second straight time the Dons have beaten the Broncos,improving to 6-0 on their home floor.

  • After a rough start to conference play, the Gaels pickedup two wins over Gonzaga and Portland at home to bringtheir conference record to 2-4. The Gaels have now won23 of their last 25 matches against the Pilots.

  • Entering the fourth week of conference play, Portland andSaint Mary's will host "DigPink" matches to promote breastcancer awareness and education.

  • LMU tallied a non-conference win over UC Santa Barbarain a close five-set match. Senior Jasmine Rankins went for20 kills on a .348 clip and 14 digs for a double-double.
