SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for November 5, 2012.
WCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: KELLIE WOOLEVER, PEPPERDINE, JUNIOR, SETTER
Junior setter Kellie Woolever directed the Pepperdine women's volleyball team's offense last week with an impressive 12.44 assists/set versus nationally ranked opponents Saint Mary's and San Diego.
She opened the week with a record-setting performance against Saint Mary's. The 2011 AVCA All-American distributed a career-high 63 assists in the four-set victory. Her previous career best was set at 58 in a five-set win against Loyola Marymount during the previous week.
She picked up team-best 29 total digs to help the defense for a 3.22 average.
On the season, Woolever averages 11.24 assists/set which ranks second in the league and in the top-30 amongst all setters in the NCAA.
Her career assist tally of 3,493 sits in sixth place all-time in the Pepperdine record book. With 106 more helpers, Woolever will move up into fifth place. By conservative estimates, she is on pace to rank second all-time at Pepperdine but first place is well within reach by the end of next season.
