Loyola Marymount's Kathleen Luft Named WCC Volleyball Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference has named its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for November 12, 2012.

WCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: KATHLEEN LUFT, LOYOLA MARYMOUNT, REDSHIRT JUNIOR, OUTSIDE HITTER
Junior outside hitter Kathleen Luft guided LMU to a 2-0 record last week, including victories over No. 24 Pepperdine and Cal State Northridge. Luft led all players with a career-best 24 kills while hitting .367 in a four-set victory over the Waves in WCC play before posting a match-high 17 against the Matadors on Saturday. Overall on the week, she posted 41 kills (4.56 per set) while hitting .330. The native of Thousand Oaks, Calif. was also strong on the block against Pepperdine, managing a block solo and five assists en route to averaging .67 blocks per set for the week.
