SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for February 15, 2016.

San Francisco senior Taylor Proctor averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks as the Dons tussled with the league’s top two teams in the conference standings, earning a 1-1 split while coming within one possession of upsetting league-leaders BYU.

At BYU, Proctor finished with 27 points on .438 shooting and a 10-of-11 effort from the line as the Dons were nipped at the buzzer after Lexi Eaton Rydalch’s near half-court heave found its mark as time expired. She added seven rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block in the game held in Provo.

Two days later at San Diego, the Colorado Springs, Colo., native added a team-high 12 points and eight rebounds as USF defeated the Toreros, 59-54. The win at the Jenny Craig Pavilion was USF’s first victory at San Diego since the 2004 season.

As a team, the Dons finished with 34.4 percent shooting from distance, with Proctor hitting 5-of-10 attempts from beyond the arc. USF was 32-for-36 from the free throw line (.889) with Proctor’s 12-of-13 weekend leading the way. The Dons now stand at 22nd in NCAA Division I in free throw percentage, and 28th in 3-point percentage, with Proctor’s 39.6 percent shooting from distance leading the team on the year.
