WCC Announces 2016-17 Men’s Golf All-Academic Team

2017 WCC CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2016-17 West Coast Conference Men's Golf All-Academic Team. Two seniors make their third straight All-WCC First Team appearance: Max Alcorn (San Francisco) and Hunter Rappleye (Saint Mary’s) headline the list.

Four student-athletes make their second straight all-academic first team: Pacific’s Geoff Fry, Gonzaga’s Ryan Gaske, Santa Clara’s Hayden Shieh and San Francisco’s Mathias Wentjarvi. Eight men’s golf student-athletes honored posted a GPA of 3.50 or better (including honorable mentions).

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
