SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference placed a total of eight student-athletes on 2015 NSCAA All-Scholar lists, highlighted by a pair earning the distinction of NSCAA Scholar All-Americans, the organization announced this week.
Four WCC programs placed at least one student-athlete on the list: Santa Clara (3), BYU (2), San Francisco (2) and Loyola Marymount (1).
Earning Scholar All-America honors were Julie Vass of Santa Clara and Callie Taylor of Loyola Marymount with both being named to the third team.
On the All-Region teams, a quartet of WCC student-athletes were selected to the All-West Region First Team with Vass and Taylor joined by Andi Tostanoski (Santa Clara) and Elena Medeiros (BYU). Three members were selected to the All-West Region Second Team: Michelle Murphy-Vasconcelos (BYU), Jessica Nakae (San Francisco) and Dani Weatherholt (Santa Clara). Selected to the third team was Aliandra Schaffer (San Francisco).
